Dr. Shireen Tabatabai is a highly skilled and experienced gastroenterologist with an interest in endoscopy. She provides comprehensive and compassionate care to her patients, providing them practical and effective solutions for their gastrointestinal problems. Shireen combines private practice with a public appointment at Monash Health. She has a broad range of interests includes treating patients with liver disease, inflammatory bowel disease, gastro-oesophageal reflux disease and irritable bowel syndrome. She is passionate about bowel cancer prevention and screening and performs high quality gastroscopy and colonoscopy. She prides herself in providing thorough post procedure follow up care. She has a special interest in diseases of the liver.

Shireen is dedicated to improving the health of her patients by providing individualised, high-quality care with a gentle approach. She understands the need to spend adequate time with each of her patients to fully understand their medical concerns and deliver effective solutions. Shireen values careful communication and explains procedures, medical conditions and treatment plans comprehensively so patients feel comfortable, at ease and well informed.

Dr. Shireen Tabatabai obtained her medical degree with honours from the Faculty of Medicine at Monash University in 2000. She went on to complete her internship, residency and gastroenterology training at Monash Health. In 2008, she was awarded the fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians. Dr. Shireen Tabatabai is a director at Monash Gastrointestinal specialists. She sees patients in Clayton, Frankston, Cheltenham, Mentone and Bentleigh.
