Dr Efe Obudu is a specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, and has made his home on the Mornington Peninsula since 2016. Dr Obudu is an experienced, caring and compassionate doctor, who brings a wealth of experience from some of the world’s best hospitals to Frankston.

Dr Obudu obtained his primary medical degree at the College of Medicine, University of Lagos and completed his internship and required year of national service in Nigeria, setting up and running clinics and educating locals in remote communities.  He then moved to England where he completed all of his post-graduate training and qualified as a specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist. 

After these studies Efe moved from England to NZ, working for three years before moving to Australia and starting at Peninsula Health in September 2016 to date where he still works as a specialist.  Efe was formerly clinical director of the Women's Health Unit at Peninsula Health. He recently started private consulting at Peninsula Private Hospital with some wonderful colleagues. He is very excited to provide his experience in personalised care to his patients in general gynaecology, advanced laparoscopic surgery, advanced hysteroscopic surgery, endometriosis surgery, fertility, sexual and reproductive health, outpatient hysteroscopy, menstrual disorders, and ultrasound.

Efe has now commenced obstetric care at Peninsula Private Hospital and is very excited to offer his expertise towards person centred antenatal care, shared care and births. He offers the option for full private antenatal care and delivery, shared care and private antenatal care.

Efe has been fortunate to live in many different parts of the world where he has practised medicine, obstetrics, gynaecology and surgery. He brings a wealth of experience and perspective which he believes helps his patients make informed decisions about what is right for them. When he is not at work you will find him out on the water or taking a hike, in the gym, or out on the road cycling!
