Dr Abha Kaul is an experienced and well-regarded consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist. Dr Kaul completed her Basic Physician’s training in Brisbane, where she acquired a broad experience through placements across Queensland.

Dr Kaul then completed advanced training in Gastroenterology & Hepatology from the Prince Charles Hospital, Brisbane, Royal Brisbane Hospital and Peninsula Health in Melbourne.

 She then went onto learn management of complex inflammatory bowel disease at The Royal Melbourne Hospital and gained expertise in performing intestinal ultrasound. She is a member of the prestigious International Bowel Ultrasound group as well as a member of the European Crohn’s and Colitis Organisation (ECCO).

Dr Kaul is the lead of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease service at Peninsula Health, which is a multidisciplinary team looking after over 400 patients with complex Inflammatory Bowel Disease from teenagers through to late adulthood.

In her private practice Dr Kaul works across Ramsay health sites (Peninsula Private and Beleura hospital) and has consulting rooms in Mornington and McCrae.

Dr Kaul has published in international journals and authored a book chapter in the Oxford handbook of clinical medicine. Dr Kaul has a public hospital appointment with Peninsula Health, where she is actively involved in the education of medical students and junior doctors. She regularly participates and presents at national and international conferences to stay up to date with current practices and has been invited to present at conferences by the Pharmacists’ Society of Australia multiple times.
