Dr Amin Sharifi is a Melbourne-trained physician with an interest in endocronology. He completed his Endocrinology Advanced Training at St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne, Box Hill Hospital and Barwon Health.
Amin has experience in a broad range of endocrine disorders including diabetes (Type 1, Type 2 and Gestational Diabetes), thyroid disorders, osteoporosis, calcium disorders, pituitary disorders, lipid metabolism, obesity, adrenal gland disorders and reproductive endocrinology.
As clinical research fellow at St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne, Amin worked with Associate Professor David O'Neal in conducting clinical trials on advanced technology in treatment of diabetes including the first Australian clinical trial on Artificial Pancreas (Closed-Loop insulin delivery system) in adults with Type 1 diabetes. Amin has published papers in the field of advanced technology and treatments of diabetes in peer-reviewed international journals and has presented at national and international scientific meetings. In 2016, he achieved an oral presentation at the American Diabetes Association (ADA) annual scientific meeting.
Amin's focus is on providing the highest standard patient-centred care. His passion is driven by the bonds he builds with his patients over the course of their lives and the enjoyment he holds in keeping them healthy and well.
In his spare time he enjoys life with his wife and 3 year old daughter. He plays basketball and soccer and loves to explore the history.
