Mr Ross Ferguson

MBBS (Melb) Dip.Anat. (Mon) FRACS

Ross graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1983 and completed his specialist general surgical Fellowship in 1992. Following further breast surgery training at Cheltenham Hospital in the United Kingdom, he commenced surgical practice on the Mornington Peninsula in 1994.      

Ross has now developed a broad general surgical practice, with interests in breast, bowel and hernia surgery.

He has a particular interest in regional public health, working as a Visiting Medical Officer at Castlemaine Health since 2004, and Peninsula Health since 2006.

Ross is currently Chair of Frankston Private Hospital Medical Advisory Committee, and was a longterm prior member of the Beleura Private and Peninsula Private Hospitals Medical Advisory Committees. 

Ross was appointed by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons as its 'Annual Scientific Congress Co-ordinator' from 2017 to 2020.  This role involved co-ordinating the program of the major annual RACS professional development conference for general surgeons in Australasia and beyond.

Ross is a current professional member of the Australian Society of Breast Disease, Australian Medical Association, Coeliac Society of Australia, General Surgeons of Australia and the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.  

Ross is an approachable and respectful communicator.  As well as using his extensive surgical skills and experience,  he listens to and communicates well with his patients, their families or carers, and health professionals.  He aims to maximise and enhance the health outcomes, surgical experience, and wellbeing of every individual patient.
