Peninsula Private Hospital is among the first hospitals in Australia to implant the first-in-class WATCHMAN® Left Atrial Appendage (LAA) Closure device for patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) who require blood thinning medications to reduce their risk of stroke. Dr Greg Szto and Dr Rodney Teperman performed the first procedures on the Mornington Peninsula at Peninsula Private Hospital on Wednesday 27th March 2013. It is understood to be one of the first private hospitals in Victoria to implant the Watchman device.

Private patients in Frankston and the Mornington Peninsula are already reaping the benefits of major redevelopments at both Peninsula Private Hospital and Beleura Hospital, which include expansion of surgical and mental health services, additional beds and new critical care facilities.

Peninsula Private Hospital has been named amongst Victoria and Australia’s best private hospitals, according to a nationwide survey of patient satisfaction conducted by Medibank Private.
A young woman diagnosed with a benign tumour had almost half of her stomach removed this week through key-hole surgery at Peninsula Private Hospital.
The bad news is that Heart Disease is the number one cause of death in Australia. The good news is that many of these deaths can be avoided.
