Please refer to the hospital for current rates for overnight accommodation.
Catering Services
Our Catering Services Department takes pride in the nutritious meals that we serve. Specialised dietary requirements are catered for on request as are the services of a dietitian. We are also able to provide partners with a meal for a small additional charge.
Photographer
Every Monday and Thursday an independent professional photographer visits the unit to take baby’s first official photograph. These photographs may be purchased directly from the photographer. The photographer from the local newspaper also attends each Monday morning.
Film Equipment in Birth Suite and the Operating Theatre
Ramsay Health Care recognises that unique and special moments arise in hospital that patients, families and friends may wish to capture on film. Peninsula Private Hospital needs to ensure that patient safety, clinical teamwork, the privacy of other patients, staff members and medical personnel are not compromised. Devices that record both film and sound are not allowed in the operating suite, birth suites or special care nursery.
Single shot devices that do not record sound are permissible by the agreement of the care team members present at the time.
Film and sound may be recorded in the privacy of a patient’s own room, provided the privacy of other patients and staff members is not compromised.
Special Care Nursery
To ensure the health of premature and ill babies, our nursery is equipped with the latest medical facilities for deliveries after 36 weeks gestation.
Our midwives are trained to provide the care and support needed. Paediatricians are on call 24 hours a day.
Post Natal
You may expect to be in hospital for 4 nights following a normal delivery and 5 nights following a caesarian section. A comprehensive post natal education program is conducted during your stay which covers topics such as feeding your baby, parenting skills, coping at home and community resources. Midwives are available 24hrs a day in the immediate post discharge period on our direct Midwifery line 9788 3468.
Visiting Hours
To ensure that our new mothers and babies receive adequate rest, we restrict maternity visiting hours to:
2pm - 4pm and 6pm - 8pm daily. During a rest period between 12.30 - 2pm we ask that visitors and telephone calls be restricted.
Valuables
We recommend you leave all valuable personal items at home including money and jewellery. We cannot accept responsibility for the loss or damage of any item brought into the hospital.
